2026 DATES ANNOUNCED
31 July 2025: Project Supercars, in partnership with the Canberra Racing Club, are proud to announce the dates for the third Canberra Festival of Speed.
Saturday, 31 January and Sunday, 1 February 2026 will host the two-day celebration of motorsport and automotive culture at Thoroughbred Park.
The Festival with European flair has attracted almost 30,000 patrons across the first two editions and organisers are excited to grow the event for Canberra and the automotive community.
The 2025 Festival attracted 250 of the world’s most exotic vehicles, a 20 per cent year-on-year increase, with diverse highlights including an ex-Kimi Räikkönen F1 car, Brock A9X Torana, and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
Exclusive moments included the reveal of restored DJR Falcons not seen together in 31 years and Cam Hill’s 2025 Supercars Championship livery, along with the famous Bates family thrilling crowds all weekend with their iconic rally cars on the exhibition circuit.
Organisers are excited to grow the number of entrants in 2026 with a big, new addition.
“In 2026, the Canberra Festival of Speed will welcome performance motorcycle entries for static display, so we invite owners of rare and exotic bikes to get involved.” Tanti said.
“This is another great example of the diversity of our Festival.”
“While European supercars are our core, we welcomed some great racing and touring cars in 2025 as well as some incredibly unique vehicles like a Batmobile and DeLorean.”
After attracting plenty of families in the first two editions of the Canberra Festival of Speed, kids’ activities will be expanding, reinforcing the proud family friendly nature of the Festival.
To ensure patrons can enjoy every element of the Festival, the two major overpasses that allowed patrons travel freely to and from the inner-circuit will return again in 2026.
Saturday night will also feature a special Legends Dinner with guest speakers and further details to be released soon.
Early Bird tickets for the 2026 Canberra Festival of Speed will be available on Tuesday, 12 August with single day tickets available for Saturday or Sunday, as well as a Festival ticket covering both days of the event.
In 2025, 49 per cent of ticket holders came from outside the ACT, making the Festival one of Canberra’s newest drivers of tourism.

ICONIC DJR RACERS REUNITED
16 December 2024: Two legendary Australian race cars will reunite after 31 years, debuting post-restoration at the Canberra Festival of Speed.
The Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon EB2 and EB3, driven by John Bowe and Dick Johnson in the 1993 ATCC, marked the start of the 5.0-litre V8 Group 3A era, which evolved into today’s Supercars Championship.
Festival ambassador John Bowe, who won the 1993 season opener at Amaroo Park, will unveil both cars in a special ceremony on Day 1 of the event.

TRACK UPGRADES
2 November 2024: The Exhibition Circuit has been upgraded for the second Canberra Festival of Speed in January.
In partnership with Capital Asphalt, key corners have been widened, doubling the chicane’s asphalt width from the first event.
Between festivals, the circuit hosts various events and supports driver education. Canberra’s 5th Gear Motoring uses it for learner programs, teaching road skills in a safe, controlled space.
