ICONIC DJR RACERS REUNITED
16 December, 2024: Two of the most iconic race cars in Australian motorsport history will appear together for the first time in 31 years, as they’re exclusively revealed following ground-up restoration at the Canberra Festival of Speed.

Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon EB2 and EB3 cars raced together in the hands of John Bowe and Dick Johnson respectively in the 1993 ATCC.

This was the first season of the 5.0-litre V8 Group 3A era that later evolved into V8 Supercars and remains the top echelon of Australian Motorsport as the Supercars Championship today.
Canberra Festival of Speed ambassador John Bowe won the first round of the 1993 series at Amaroo Park, and will be unveiling the two cars at a special ceremony on Day 1 of the event in January.
The EB3 chassis’ race career was cut short when Johnson crashed out of the 1993 Bathurst 1000 while co-driver Bowe watched on from the pits, but has now been meticulously restored to original race condition alongside Bowe’s EB2 championship car.
ENHANCED EXHIBITION CIRCUIT
22 November, 2024: Significant enhancements to the Exhibition Circuit have been completed, in readiness for the second Canberra Festival of Speed in January.
Working in conjunction with official partner Capital Asphalt, these enhancements include significant widening of several corners, with the asphalt track width at the chicane section now double that experienced at the first event.
The Canberra Festival of Speed Exhibition Circuit is also being put to good use in between events, playing host to a variety of other events throughout the year, but also to benefit driver education.

Canberra-based driver education firm 5th Gear Motoring is regularly using the circuit area within the Thoroughbred Park precinct for programs with school-age learner drivers, embracing the ability to teach road placement and basic skills in a safe and controlled environment away from other road users.
OFFICIAL CHARITY PARTNER
4 September, 2024: The Canberra Festival of Speed is proud to announce Hands Across Canberra as official charity partner for 2025.
Hands Across Canberra is Canberra’s independent community foundation, which has been raising funds for local community-service organisations and helping the region’s most vulnerable individuals and families for the past 14 years.
The foundation makes it easier for Canberrans to help other Canberrans, and currently engages with over 350
charities and community service organisations.

The fan favourite has driven more than 60 different race cars over his career spanning more than half a century; from open wheelers to sports cars, touring cars, V8 Supercars, GT3 and production-based categories.
